Choosing a Therapist
Choosing a therapist is the most important aspect to having a positive outcome in counseling. Of the various research done on success in psychotherapy, having a therapist with whom you feel comfortable is the most important factor. This comfort primarily relates to feeling understood.
To be an informed consumer, we recommend speaking with a few therapists on the phone first so that you get some sense of them before setting an appointment. Next, meet with the therapist (or therapists) and then make a decision. Once you choose a therapist, it can be part of your conversation to discuss your comfort level.
The therapists, Tripp Carey, Nicole Anthony, and Gwen Zarkowski are happy to spend time on the phone with you to help you assess whether we are a "good fit" for you. Give us a call (215-536-0308).
